This is an instance where the Rhino tool offers a useful option which is not available in it’s Grasshopper counterpart.
That’s very easy with just a few lines of C# code. Notify if you need a demo.
I have in Pufferfish an “Offset Surface” component which has options for both sides and solid. In code it is using this method.
