Have you checked out the Rendering panel in v6? It’s pretty simple to rotate the environment but it’s not done by dragging the preview. I think this is already a huge improvement over calling rotation azimuth. The visible backdrop and the lighting environment are also linked by default!
Out of curiosity, what’s memose? I found several hits searching for it but none appeared to be for rendering. Maybe I’m just not familiar with what the cool kids are into these days.

I’ll look into it, I am one of those who had lots of trouble with the installer, but still I think it is important to go as far as you can go, not just settle for half the distance
