As the topic’s title suggests, this request is to enable closing the Properties panel upon right-click on the Status bar’s layer indicator. Currently, right-clicking on the same layer indicator opens the Properties panel and puts focus on the Layers tab, which is great. It only needs to reverse that action after another right-click. Should be easy?
Where do you right click to do this?
I added a screen-shot above to give a better idea about my request. You click on the Layers indicator located at the Status bar at the very bottom of the screen.
My viewport looks like this most of the time in Rhino 7. With the Layer tab open already, I didn’t see what you described. I’m happy there’s a shortcut in Rhino 8 to _ToggleRightSidebar …
Yes, that feature is targeted to those who keep the 'Properties" panel closed most of the time to take advantage of the larger screen area. I mostly work on cars, so naturally it’s essential for me to have the widest possible viewport, whereas height is not so important. This is why I placed my custom toolbars at the bottom.
Rhino 8 WIP has a great new addition that was requested for years: auto-hiding side panels.
