Wish: Modifier Keys for MouseButtons

i just realised that the button Indicator for Mac has started working (not sure when it happened because i can remember it never worked before) allowing to utilize my extra buttons properly for more commands.

still i think allowing to use modifier keys additionally would increase the mouse performance even more. buttons like alt - shift - cmd or any combination there of as alternative and additional options.

Are you talking about modifiers for the additional buttons? If so this may be available in your mouse vendors driver. Typically speaking we just use the info coming from the mouse driver.

i would say pretty sure that is something rhino would have to accomplish. i can not load macros commands or whatever into the mouse driver? maybe i did not express this thought well.

below i am pressing one of my extra buttons of my mouse, i have set this one to _Length. now i have one last button nr 5 for distance and thats it. 2 buttons 2 functions… the middle mouse is configured under the mouse section in rhino and left and right click is also predefined in rhino so nothing to add here.

now if i could press alt, cmd, ctrl, shift etc. or any combination thereof additionally to increase the amount of extra functions addressable with the mouse that would be a whole new world of performance. also having the middle mouse button and the left and right click do the same of course.

also for screen edges since we are at it.

Ah… got it… that’s a different animal all together.

I’ll write it up
