(Wish) LayerPanel Tab and Rename

I still think, adding, duplicating, renaming layers should be more fluent. there is already some related wishes

this topic:
I would love to have the tab key, to jump to the next layer-renaming.

Sample:
Starting with

Layer 01
Layer 02
Layer 03

it would be great to be able to
click - click Layer 01
rename "Layer 01" -> Type "constr"
tab
and have “Layer 02” rename active
rename "Layer 02"-> Type "crvs"
tab
and have “Layer 03” rename active
rename "Layer 03"-> Type "srf"
press enter to have focus back on viewport / commandline.

happy to discuss - kind regards -tom

Hi Tom -

I see that this currently doesn’t do anything on macOS.
On Windows, hitting Tab when editing the name of a layer creates a new layer. I don’t run anything older than Rhino 5 on this system but this also works like that in that version.
I’d say that it should do the same on macOS.

No.

sorry but no mac os / Rhino 9 if have the layer name active for edit, type a new name and press tab - the focus is back on the main viewport / commandline.

As I said, that appears to be a bug on macOS.

Now on the list as RH-93740 Layer: Tab Does Nothing
