Colors in the font of the names the layers to identify them more easily
Hi Miguel - it would be helpful to explain in something like complete sentences what it is you would like Rhino to do differently.

Yes, for example we could have all the root layers with a characteristic tone and all the sublayers have the same color with a lower tone and in this way when there is a large number of layers quickly identify by the color of the color block or set , formed from the root layer and the sublayers that contain them, because having all the names with the same black color can be tiring and boring when managing the layers, therefore we have to read until we find it in the extensive list. On the other hand, with the color we would have a second search feature or alternative and we could quickly identify which layers contain them or are contained.
Let us remember that many times there are collaborative works and the 3d model has been developed by another person and it takes a little time to understand how many blocks or set of root layers there are and what it contains, how it was formed, etc, therefore with the color You could set symbolic colors that identify a set of layers.
I can illustrate it with another example such as an architectural project that creates a root layer of architecture in blue and the sublayers are in light blue that contains the layers interior walls, exterior walls, windows, doors, etc, in the same way we create another structure layer and has red color and the sublayers of light red that contain columns, beams, etc.
Hi Miguel -
I’ve added this feature request to RH-43252 Color coding layer display
Also note that, in Rhino 8, there is a search field in the Layers
panel to filter layers by name.
