WISH: Accessibility: Use System Colors for Backgrounds

I’m a blind/low vision Rhino User, and I prefer everything to have a black background (even light gray is significantly slower for me to read and navigate.) I love the Rhino has a very customizable interface, but wish that this extended to things like the sidebar on the right side, the Text tool, and other things that have a dark gray background. If these could just adjust to the system colors and be black with a border, in the same way that the command line does, that would make Rhino more accessible for blind and low vision users, who often have their own custom system color settings that are most user-friendly for them.

Thanks!

Hello @pdfaze, you can edit the advanced settings to override any and all UI Colours. It’s a bit more cumbersone, but if you play around you should be able to create your perfect high-contrasty Rhino. Ideally this would be simpler of course.

Hi Callum! This is great news!!

Is there a place with instructions on doing this? Feel like I’ve done it in the past, but can’t remember where or how

Hi Paul -

Not at the moment, no.
We have an open ticket to get that cleaned up and then documented
RH-81908 Expose UI interface colors in a human readable way

For the time being, you might want to try to search for earlier posts on this topic, such as:
