WISH: Ability to filter sublayers without showing layer parents

Default filtering behavior is expected and it should be kept this way, but sometimes it would be beneficial to hide higher levels of nested levels structure while searching. I would expect an option for that in the Layers Panel hamburger menu.

While performing a search to quickly turn off the visibility of all found “mesh” layers it’s impossible to easily select multiple “mesh” layers because other layers are also visible.

searching for the “mesh” layers

search results showing not only “mesh” layers but also levels higher in the hierarchy - most of the time it’s ok, but it’s not desired always

Hi Jakub -

I’ve added that feature request: RH-81234 Layer: Hide parents of filtered layers
-wim

By the way, I would like to ask for the same in the Block Definitions Panel.

I really like the Flat View option in the Directory Opus. This mode together with other modes is making a complete system of browsing nested structures.

Using Directory Opus is a joy - Flat View and search example

Similarly to the “location” column when browsing folder structure it might be beneficial adding “Parent” column in Layers Panel and Block Definitions Panel.

Maybe in addition to the toggle “Hide parents of filtered layers” wildcard search should allow typing in full layer adresses?

Unfiltered state

dede::1 *should filter only sublayers of dede layer and from those only show these that contain 1 number in the name
