WIP : some weird things (Copy between files, materials, display)

Hi, I have just ran into a few problems in WIP, will try my best to explain below:
WIP (7.0.20105.11465, 4/14/2020)

Here is a sample piece of file I have been testing this with. Originally this is Rhino 6 file with mesh objects imported via OBJ with OBJ materials created on import:
Materials_TEST_Rhino_6.3dm (560.0 KB)

In V6 all looks and works OK, please note the bump map value on the creme color leather top imports from OBJ as -25% and shows fine (inverted bump effect) in V6:

The same file opened in V7

  1. negative bump map value gets reset to 0%
  2. when trying to change it via the spinner in object material properties, it allows negative values, but no effect shows, and when clicking away from the bump amount field, it resets to 0%

Another, even weirder thing:
Try copying these objects from either Rhino 6 or Rhino WIP into a new Rhino WIP (instead opening the file, Ctrl+C > Ctrl+V): material display is messed up in destination file - looks like the EMAP takes over, no color information is displayed:

@johnc (hi!) - in case this is something in your realm…

thanks,

Hi Jarek,

I’ll try to look into this during this week.

I’ve separated these into two issues and filed them as https://mcneel.myjetbrains.com/youtrack/issue/RH-58040 and https://mcneel.myjetbrains.com/youtrack/issue/RH-58054
