Hello,

Is it possible to have this opening in blue automatically and not the one in red for roof windows?

Hi @Henry_Boutet_de_Monv I’m afraid that’s not possible right now. Not in an automatic way, I mean. The windows generate a plumb cut in the roof. We may add a feature to edit that in future versions.

@fsalla Well, I can’t even imagine a use case for the current behaviour of roof windows. It would be great to have more options - and have them sooner than in VA4… Maybe a small workaround would be possible through GH Window styles with some GH generated solid whose output would serve as kind of the automatic “VaSubstractSolid” operator? Just an idea…

@MichalKrizo @Henry_Boutet_de_Monv If you change the Roof edge cut to “Square”, the opening of the window will also perform a square cut inside the roof. I hope we can add more options to control the opening cut in future versions, but the earliest will be VA4.

That could be achieved with a GH definition that generates a solid of subtraction based on a window. But it would be nothing but a macro of something you can do manually without Grasshopper.
