Why unable to save this metallic looking file in V8?

Hi,
referring to a post and a file Gijs posted

In an effort to get my nuts as brass,.
I have taken Gijs’s file and imported my objects into it.
selected them and placed them on his layer.
then gone to toothpaste (paint tube) tab and allocated to same property of ‘physically based’, they go brass FANTASTIC.
takes a while as the speckled bitty fine granular scene settles down to become photo perfect.
I save the file and get this message.

I have tried shortening the file name, altering save location. deleting his objects, no success.

same problem.

If I just open Gij’s file and save it to my D drive, same problem.

why ?

Steve

Does the saving succeed when you save to say your Desktop on your C-drive? Is the D-drive an external drive (USB)? Is there enough free space on the D-drive?

Hi,
I went to Rhino 5 instead to work on another file and when saving, it said D drive is full.
so create some space, then Rhino 8 saves.

Why can’t we have a nice informative Rhino 5 message in Rhino 8 ?

would save 15 mins of trying all sorts !

esp when I dont have 15mins to spare this evening.

How do we get such onto the fixit list for V8 ?

Cheers

Steve
