When opening a file in Rhino, for instance a .step file, it never opens/imports the file using my default template file. I’m not sure what file it uses, but it is not the one I have set as the default.

Hi Don - yep - use Import to force this. Open has always used the built in default file as the starting point and adjusted the units and tolerance accordingly (if there is info it can use in the incoming file) , which it will not, on import…
