Why does trim fail on this pipe, all lines in contact ...?

Hi
V5

I am trying to trim the far half (as shown) away from this pipe with the orange lines.
I initially had just the two long orange lines, made sure they went beyond the ends, trim failed.

Now I add two short segments at the ends using Int on the orange lines and circular end to complete the trim line if that is the cause, still trim fails.

It is possible to trim a solid with a line, tested a box.

The orange lines were created by projecting lines and curves onto the pipe so they are in contact, furthermore I ran intersect and they intersect,

Cant think of any other thing.

So frustrating when the above seems an ok approach to ensure all is ok.

Always some minute microscopic thing causes an hour of problem solving.

Building a ruled surface (by Loft) between the 2 curves ( and extending it a bit ), you can trim the pipe.

… Also, the pipe looks strange.
It looks there are some surfaces inside the tube, which I guess cannot be trimmed by an external curve.

Hi Emilio,
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, SAVED THE DAY HERE

not sure why pipe odd, though I did do a boolean difference to join the curvy end to the straight section as they overlapped.

Booleans !
