Why does the worksession window UI take 5 min to switch between item?

here i just want to detach the first item, yet when i click it, the UI takes 5 minute to update. You can see the window says not responding here and it freezes my laptop.

Also, this window takes 5 minute to load up as well whenever I have large files attached to my base model.

I understand if the model is large, detaching or attaching the model takes time. But the UI itself to conduct the said task shouldn’t take any time at all as it is just a display of information.

Please McNeel understand that UI exists to make our life easier. So Performance and Speed is of utmost importance.

Any chance you have VisualARQ objects in those large files? And what is “large” in your case?

I do not. If you try worksessioning 4 models with size up to 400 MB each, the performance slows down significantly.
