Why do Text Dots Appear On Top of Everything?

I find Text Dots useful to mark things in a model such as mistakes, updates, corrections, pay attention, etc.

While this is the plan…

…This is the perspective

Can I choose not to draw them on top of everything? I want them to be occluded by other geometry. Same as text is, same as points are.

Hello- dots are specifically designed not to be occluded. You can make an annotation style with capsule frames and solid color masking as a sort of 3d dot.

This is the behavior designed into these special Annotation Dots.
I just verified all the way back to Rhino V4.

I think if you use SendBackward they will be occluded.

It seems they disappear altogether.

All these dots should still be visible with no occlusion.

Send Backward.

It would be great if they worked as points do.

Can we add a wish?

Hello- Does the text-as-dot trick mentioned above get you the display you want? I am guessing much of the time not, because snapping these to geometry - corners of boxes etc - will always bury part of it, obscuring the text itself

So, partly occluded…

Hi Pascal, just now I understood what you meant. I think it might work as for now I only use ‘!’ exclamation marks on my labels.

Thank you!
