All of these black hexagon parameters can only be obtained on the canvas if you right click on the a component’s input and select extract parameter. What is the reason that they are not included in the menu? There are several more that I have encountered, these are just some of them
There is no nefarious reason why some parameter type were not exposed. The main reason we decided not to expose every single parameter type was that during the development process it was becoming clear that there was just going to be way too many parameter types in the menu for any sort of legibility… so I think we decided to only expose the ones that would be used the most often for clarity sake. We can obviously expose more of them if you think there are certain ones that would be useful on the toolbar ribbon but we’d also like to strike a balance of legibility.
Out of all of these, the font parameter was the one I was always surprised to find not being in the default ribbon as you use it in for every text entity/ text tag component and it helps to have it defined once at the start and use something like Telepathy to supply it ahead. It felt out of place that I had to retrieve the font by extracting it from the text settings component every time. If any, the Font Parameter should be accessible from the menu.
Other than that, I would have also just liked to see the total collection of all parameters that are present in grasshopper - from a knowledge building persepctive and also just to appreciate the art of the icons. Is there any place where I can find a definitive list of all parameters?
Alot of these I wish I could define with a panel, but alas.
I just learned I could access this one by typing “#Predicate”:
If there are more of these, perhaps they should be easy to search from within Grasshopper too?
@Kyuubimode this works for Model Font Too:
Though right now, the search brings up other components first and doesn’t really make it intuitive to get the components that aren’t exposed to the menu.
