White and Black Edges Clash with Custom Preview & Lineweights

I am having this issue where I use custom preview to display geometry and debrep to get the edges and display their outline in black. There seems to be a white outline on the custom preview geometry that was not there in the past and is clashing with my black lines. Maybe I have a render setting set incorrectly - any ideas how to fix? Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi James -

Can you be more specific about that part?

The same script would represent this with a more solid black line as recent as 2 months ago:

Now my render and arctic mode views have this white edge when using custom preview and that clashes when you colour the edges something else. It could be a setting I’ve changed but I’ve tried setting the Display Modes to default (for render and arctic) and that has not solved the issue.
If I turn the line weights component off this is what it looks like, you should be able to see the white edges the Custom Preview component seems to create, that, to the best of my knowledge, were not there in the past:

in Rhino you can disable the display of Surface Edges:

Thanks for the reply! I double checked and I already had that one turned off. I still seem to get these white edges.

Just for context, if I use one of the computers in my office that hasn’t updated Rhino recently (it’s on version 8.8.24142.13001, 2024-05-21) I get the result I am looking for:

The issue seems to arise on my PCs running version 8.16.25021-13001, 2025-1-21

I’m on 8 SR16 (8.16.25021.13001, 2025-01-21) :frowning:

are those geometries for which you want to hide the edges Surfaces?
Rhino → Options → View → [custom display name] → Display Modes are directly linked to the Display Bar:

you can also check here, and Set scale to 0 to see what happens… in my case:

Thank you for your help. I tried to set the Surface Edge Scale to 0 but I still have white lines.

It is strange as we are on the same version of Rhino but seem to have these different outcomes. I have now rolled back to 8.8.24142.13001 on my primary PC and don’t have the issue for this script:

But I now have display issues with other scripts; the command line displays all these read-outs and geometry that was custom previewing on the latest build now isn’t:
