Where to alter settings to make a mesh and its texture translucent?

Hi,
need to make an obj and its texture translucent to see my created work inside and behind it, for selection, snapping to etc.
I select mesh and go materials but transparency does nothing.

Hi @Steve1 ,

You might be talking about in a display mode versus the Renderer. If so, try SetObjectDisplayMode and choose Rendered mode for the mesh if it’s rendering material is translucent. This will make it display with that mode despite the active display mode for the viewport.

If that doesn’t help, I’d need to see a 3dm.

I think you might be using this car wheel scan from some other posts of yours. The mesh has vertex colors so you don’t need the texture map. Disable that in the assigned material and then adjust the transparency with the slider…
