Where all these materials came from?

Hi
Found out there were 120 copies of the same material
No idea how they multiplied so successfully inside this early draft/wip model

Thanks a lot
Akash

Hi -
Could you please post your SystemInfo output and steps to reproduce this behavior?
-wim

Hi Wim

bellow is the system info:

As far as steps to reproduce this… well I have no idea
it happened in a file that had an older file [probably v5] imported into it at one stage, the 24k material infection may have something to do with that.
unfortunately by now I deleted all these duplicate materials as the material panel became unusable.
But for sure. after importing the older geometry, I didn’t have these duplicates yet. so that must have happened at some point later on in V7.

I understand it’s likely not reproducible issue…

Thanks a lot
Akash

Hi Akash, I see Bella in there, and though I do not believe there is any code in it that could be involved in producing this behavior, if you could send me a simplified file that produces the behavior, I’d like to check it to be sure.

Hi
Certainly if it happens again I’ll make sure to send you the file.
At the moment I have no idea where this come from so I can’t intentionally recreate it.

Thanks a lot.
Akash
