When to use What?

I created a dome with different tools in Rhino.
However, I do not know when and what is appropriate.
I knew the control points as well as the UV direction were different.

Need some input from group member.

Hi Raymond - if what you are after is a part of a sphere then the most exact and simplest would be a Revolve of an arc or a trimmed sphere - there would be no reason that I can think of to use sweeps for that. When the shape is less rigidly defined as a primitive though, these tools come in handy.
