That we can still be inefficient and wasteful (on money) in the name of pseudo-aesthetics despite thousands of years of science and engineering.

Certainly not practical for a living space. What interests me is the interaction of the individual sticks as they shift across each other without mechanical fastener or adhesive and the feeling of the space they create. Part science project, part art.

that is indeed very intriguing

I believe friction and tension will be very angry for excluding them as mechanical properties (although not adhesion per se) :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
