What setting to turn off these curves in display mode copy of artistic?

I have a view mode called copy of artistic, which I have fiddled with in an attempt to get real world looks to an item in shaded mode.

However I cannot make the values 0 to lose the line arrowed in my screen grab.

What is the fix ?

also how do I get the light source to be ‘above my right shoulder’ or perhaps better ‘above my left shoulder’ as I would expect the edge of the disc to not be in shadow.

I think only in V7 and later can you turn off the display of joined tangent edges. Not in V5.

Ok, once I get V8 intalled I casn solve it then.

…but also at long last there may be better shaded mode display modes with real world shadows etc, or so I hope, on bended knee praying in fact. desperate to get at such.
