I see same sliders for shadow,
I dont see one that adjust the actual size of the shadow.
Mine are far bigger than the object would cast.
This would be a useful real life view mode but for the overdone shadows spread size.

You could always use the sun in rendered mode. If that helps. —-Mark

normally rendered mode for me is too stark black or white, no dimensions, or curve lines, it kills all the things I use to design with, I like to design and create in shaded mode but on this object all my planar objects vanish, I need shadows to delineate them.
When I eventualy start using 8 overcoming all the initial hurdles its throwing at me, I hope to find a view mode that allows all the tools and dimensions etc of shaded mode, with some shadows so I can see planar items picked out from their fellow same plane items. I have longed for such a real life lit shaded mode since V4. Shaded ode with shadows. Meanwhile artistic in desperation gives me some kind of shadows but not realistic.
I am in V5 but artistic has non real shadows. V8 also has same sliders.
surely there is a control over these overly long shadows. ?
V8 is three versions on from V5, has no one given us control yet ?
