Can someone please tell me what this container is or how its created?

It is the Path Mapper component.

If you wonder what some component is, you can hold Alt Gr and then hold left-mouse-button (I don’t know the equivalent on Mac though). It will show you from which tab the component can be found.

I think they are referring to Option+Command and Click the Component to get this…
