What is 'Object type: control'

Hi everyone
i can’t seems to find info. regarding this in the Help or Wiki.

So I drew a regular circle, then copy and scaled it, the scaled circle is selectable, but it won’t extrude! In Object Property it says Object type: control …?
Would someone kindly explain what is it [also i can’t see why it is not a closed curve ]

with thanks

Hi Akash - can you repeat this? You should be able to Explode the ‘control’ to make it into a curve again.

hi Pascal
nice that you’r looking into this,
i explode it and got an normal closed curve as you said
the command line read the following: Exploded a morph control object into a NURBS curve.

i’m just really curious what what that? would you mind explaining ?
[i tried repeating these 2 simple steps but no luck, rhino behaved normally ]
is there an object type like this control object or it was just a curious glitch…?

with thanks

Hi Akash - normally a control object is created using the CageEdit (see Help) command and selecting an object - curve or surface - as the control. That is why I asked about repeating the problem.

-Pascal

thanks Pascal,
“Edit” yes it has somehow did this again when i tested with the cage as you suggested. i may have called the cage for a different object a while back and that circle got selected by mistake [now i seems to remember]
that would explain that. [sorry very late at night here]

thanks again
