I’m trying to create a smooth transition between to adjoining tubes (kind of like a polished weld). But the surface blend isn’t staying tight to the edges of my cut tube. What do I need to do to fix this?

Hello - the gap there is about .0064 units wide, and the file tolerance is .01. In general, you’ll want to work at a tolerance ab out 10 smaller than the smallest ‘feature’.
