What happened to the old school quick text edit popup?

i miss that dang thing so much

@pascal do you remember what i’m talking about? it was so much faster to edit with less mouse movement and clicks.

It wasn’t possible to keep that V5 tool with the rich text additions, and several other compounding changes for V6.

It is missed by a lot of people.

ahhh, that’s a bummer. thanks for replying.

sorry to resurrect. is there a command that will popup that quick edit popup to macro?

problem with how it is, if you have text on an object, you can’t double click to edit the text, it just selects the surface. leading you to the properties panel. way to many steps for something that is supposed to be quick.

@pascal do you have a script floating around that would help? thanks.

So, what you want is the old EditText as a command to pop up the in-your-face editor, correct, to be able to bypass the double-click…?
Does RTextEdit get you the right thing?

-Pascal

RTextEdit is better and helps with the overlapping text. but mn do i miss the old one.

this will work, thanks
