Warning 1946 (2)Property 'System.AppUserModel.ID' for shortcut 'Rhino 8

Hi,
My big moment…
Installed Rhino V8 then the update, got this warning,
has anyone else experienced this ?

warning 1946 (2)Property ‘System.AppUserModel.ID’ for shortcut ‘Rhino 8.lnk’ could not be set

for other progs its said its a windows 7 thing. and a fault of the program makers.

though I am win 10 64bit pro.

should the install be tweaked by McNeel ?

Cheers
Steve

This warning has been experienced on this forum before - you can ignore the warning. I think it has already been addressed in a later version.

Hi,
V8

Not so it seems, as it happened when installing the update after the initial version was without warning.
I shall ignore, but McNeel note it came with the update.

Cheers

Steve

I meant later installer build meaning one that is not yet service release (maybe even not yet service release candidate)

I’ve been getting the same warning the past couple of updates, including the one today:

It usually appears twice during the install by the way. Any updates on this issue?

Hi Anders -

No. We have it on the list a few times and I’ve added this thread to the only one of those that can be set to public viewing → RH-82041 Installer: Shortcut errors during install

Just got the error on today’s build again:

Yes, Marika opened RH-82041 again yesterday. For some, this appears to work, for others not. I’ve personally never seen that warning but I’m not getting the (related) SafeMode shortcuts on my system…
