Hi Paal - I am not sure exactly what you mean - are you asking the order or sequence in which the objects are written to the file? Or the ‘order’, in NURBS-speak, of the surfaces in each direction?
-Pascal
Hi,
I can see that my question was a bit confusing. I am asking for the sequence in which the objects are written to the file.
Pål
Hi Paal - here’s my guess - and @tim can tell us if I am inventing things - the objects are processed in the order selected if selected one by one, and in the order in which they appear in the Rhino database (most recently modified first) if pre-selected or window selected. I do not know if that corresponds to the order in which they are written in the file though - I guess Tim will have to weigh in.
-Pascal
My guess is that what Pascal said is probably true. The objects for export are collected in an object iterator and then processed in the order they appear in the iterator. I do think that, if picked individually, you can count on the order in the file. Otherwise, they probably are ordered based on where they show up in the document object array, but I’m not certain about that.
Tim
Hi,
Thank you both, with your input I now have this under control.
