Hello, I was wondering if Wallacei can be somehow effectively used for parallel optimization. I am working on a problem that requires solving multiple optimization problems, so it would be better if all of the problems could be run at once, which seems to me to be a bit simpler than multi-objective optimization. My optimization procedure requires running an .exe file. While this .exe can carry out the calculations for these separate problems all at once, I cannot use multi-objective optimization because I have independent sets of variables.

Hello, there should not be a problem as long as Wallacei optimisation is the bigger loop in the mix, it will be more helpful to draw a diagram of your problem. so we get to see how different optimisation loops will interact.

Hello, for my specific problem it would be good if no interaction between the different problems occurs. It is actually *n* separate problems. To correct myself, it is also better that for each problem a specific .exe file runs due to some peculiarities of preparing the .exe itself. But basically, I assign a set of random variables, that then enters the .exe, exe runs and retrieves the results, and that is the same procedure for each one of the optimization problems. I figured that by just assigning a multi-objective optimization, the algorithm may assume patterns that actually do not exist.

as long as the .exe operations happen within the Wallacei loop, there should not be a problem. What is the problem at the moment ? Have you tried?

If I connect it to only one Wallacei component, it works but only the multi-objective optimization. If I try for parallel optimization, i.e., one Wallacei component for each optimization problem, that does not work.

Yes, you can not have multiple wallacei components per grasshopper file with our public release. One Wallacei component per GH file
