VSR end of Life-

Really appreciate this new capability in analysis. I’ve integrated it into our project for helmet design and explored the different methods, integrating them into the touch menu system.

The latest surface evaluation methods in Rhino make curvature inspection—especially for complex forms like helmets—far more intuitive. Using a hybrid touch/encoder interface, we’re exploring shapes in real time, blending hands-on control with precise feedback.

A short montage of the tools, then a live OBS capture. Less constraint, more iteration.

Hint: I can’t see a button named “Export mapping” when the Zebra analysis is active. That will let the users export the current custom mapping applied by the zebra analysis to create an artwork for painting with the corresponding unwrap coordinates. :grinning:

The new zebra is written as logic directly inside a GPU shader. It is not a mapping of an image.

This leaves the possibility to have such a functionality in Rhino 10.

Will these 5 weaknesses be fixed in Rhino 9? If so, I’m buying it at day 1.

Rhino 28? De quelle version avez-vous ce panneau complet?
Merci du retour.

Просто се шегувах. Съмнява ме дори и Rhino 28 да притежава чак толкова добре развит “Blend surface”. :grinning:

  j’ai honte de m’être fait avoir!

Wanted to respond to each point here with my thoughts- see below in bold

I will reply to every of your points in a few days when I’m free. I believe that having the aforementioned issues sorted out will massively improve the workflow of many Rhino users.

Hi Kyle- can you make a youtube video on where you showcase all the differenet ways of using dragmode options, like you discribed in point 1. ? and Show a workflow how it can actually be used in real life? I tried so many times and never really got it…
That would be a big help!

great idea! I’ll do some thinking on how to do that effectively.

stay tuned!

Should we expect something to “sculpt” control points better/faster in Rhino 9?

Check this:

So, it’s just like DragMode UVN/ControlPolygon in V8?

Drag mode along the control polygon doesn’t drag along the extensions whereas this does. For some the gumball is a nicer interface. What kind of control point sculpting issues are you having that you think need addressed?

I’d like CV adjustment options akin to what Alias/ICEM/Catia offer.

Already a hot topic over here: https://discourse.mcneel.com/t/rhino-9-feature-uvn-gumball/208729/37

drag2

Sure, but please don’t look there, look here - you got ShrinkWrap
