If V-Ray is installed what you currently get (in Rhino 8 SR 12) when you Ctrl+C + Ctrl+V is the following, but Why?:
Command
1 open extrusion added to selection.
Command: '_CopyToClipboard
Press Control to extrude, tap Alt to make a duplicate
Command: '_Paste
V-Ray data version of “C:\Users\tnr\AppData\Local\Temp\rh$ADE7.tmp”: -1
Creating meshes… Press Esc to cancel
@tnr that seems a totally different issue, and from my recollection, it has been like that way before 8.12. Maybe @Nikolay knows why.

yes the V-Ray data version of “C:\Users\tnr\AppData\Local\Temp\rh$ADE7.tmp”: -1 part is from V-Ray indeed. This is a diagnostic message that helps in certain cases. It is totally unnecessary here, since -1 means that no object with V-Ray data was pasted.
I’ll get that removed in the next version
