Hi, I have looked online and can’t find any tutorials showing how to use Voronoi pattern onto an organic polysurface created in Rhino and I am overwhelmed by the new software. I have previously gotten Voronoi patterns only as a surface, however it does not generate a nice pattern as I’d expect.. Looks decent from the top but the sides are messy

I would like to output something similar to the video link I have attached, unfortunately they do not show their process. I have attached my polysurface and the video link, I was wondering if there was a code that can be applied to several organic shapes using brep/geometry as I have several of the polysurface shapes I would like to transform. Many thanks and I really appreciate the help. Video Link: [https://youtu.be/JzUIQVMQNwQ?si=fv8tIb3USBQB6O8R](https://youtu.be/JzUIQVMQNwQ?si=fv8tIb3USBQB6O8R)

Hi @R_umi,

Probably he used a workflow with bounding box, 3D voronoi and splitting the surface with the voronoi cells.

Hi, thank you for your reply! I have got a similarish output by projecting the Voronoi pattern onto the polysurface but I wanted to achieve something more like the image I have attached (but for my single model) where it wraps around the structure in a neat way from all sides, as you can see in parts of the model it creates those weird circle intersection which I am trying to avoid as the whole polysurface should be covered in the Voronoi pattern.

Does anyone know how I can create the voronoi on this polysurface?? (made up of multiple spheres boolean unioned together)
im new to grasshopper so any tutorials/help will be greatly appreciated!!

Hi @R_umi and @Georgia_Forrest ,

This method I described above works for both projects.

depends on what you want. If you bake the custom preview you will see the colours in rendered mode. If you want a frame you will have to model it.

Hi Erik,

I only just had the opportunity to take a look at your solution. I really appreciate your guidance and has helped me get closer to my ambition. One confusion, after increasing the multipipe on my model I get some weird parts in certain areas, I was wondering if I could get a confirmation if this is due to the geometry I have provided you with or to do with the grasshopper file, so I can go back and re-assess my model if needed. Also I was wondering if there was a way to create the multipipe so that the intersection points create something like this rather then the rigid connections.

Last image shows increasing the populate geometry count, I was wondering if there was a way to create the pattern so its more concentrated in some areas, and less in others? I found this tutorial that sort of shows the sort of pattern I’m looking for that wraps around my surface - do you believe this is a better method?
