Volume of Open Meshes/Polysurfaces

Hello -

Is there a way to use the Rhino5 vbScript to estimate volumes of open meshes and polysurfaces?

Rhino allows you to proceed with volume calculation of open meshes/polysurfaces when the command is selected from the drop-down menu but I have not seen similar capability within the vbScript.

Hi Matt,

Looks like RhinoScript’s SurfaceVolume calculation requires a solid Brep. I’ll add an item to the to-do list to allow for open Breps. MeshVolume looks like it allows for non-solid meshes.

Much appreciated! I should be fine with the MeshVolume, but out of curiosity, would this type of update be included in a future SR?
