VisualARQ section creation slow

Hello,
I’m creating sections of a 2GB file and the 2d section fow is really slow.

The graphic card seems not to be used for the calculation. Should this be the case and how could I do so, if possible?

Hi @wolfius,

When you say “2d section”, do you mean “section view”? If so, maybe you can try this other workflow to generate documentation which will reduce the size of your file: VisualARQ 2.0: Hidden-Line Vector output 2D drawings in Rhino - YouTube.

Also, we have here some suggestions to streamline your workflow with large files: https://www.visualarq.com/support/tip/tips-to-streamline-the-workflow-with-large-files-in-rhino/.

Thank you,

Yes, talked about the section views.

Could a graphiqu card speed up de time?
I tried another machine with a NVDIA QUADRO RTX 4000 and 32 GB RAM but this did not give a significant change.

Plan and section views uses Make2D technology to compute the visible curves, and this technology does not make use of GPU, only CPU.

Is there any reason you need to use plan and section views instead of real-time plan and section viewports?

Enric

Enric,
finaly I created vector printings. I had to wait a few seconds during the process but it was the best solution.

How is it possible that the creation of live sections are impossible or taking 5-10-20min but the vector printing takes only 1-2 minutes?

Thank you!

I congratulate your great work out of concern for the performance of visualarq in the last update, will you continue to make the VA objects lighter, in the next updates? if so, great. I think that one of the fundamental differentiating points with the other BIM methodology software would be the performance and versatility of modeling complex geometry, among other things.
