Currently I am evaluating a possibility to purchase educational license for ease of upcoming future projects.
I wonder what are your opinions about Visual Arq plug-in for grasshopper? How has been your experience with this tool? For me personally, PROS are visible, but how about CONS? Opinion about Lands Design plug-in?
Hi @Devonha VisualARQ integrates with Grasshopper in two different ways.
On one hand, you can find the VisualARQ objects available as components in Grasshopper. This lets you involve VisualARQ objects in parametric designs created in Grasshopper. But there are also components to retrieve and attach metadata to geometry, not only to VisualARQ objects but on Rhino geometry. More details here: Design Automation - VisualARQ
On the other hand, VisualARQ lets you create new object styles from Grasshopper definitions (we call them “Grasshopper Styles”). Once the new style is created, Grasshopper runs in the background and it is not necessary to understand how it works, since all parameters to edit the object are available from the Style and Properties panel. In a similar way, Lands Design offers also components to generate the different elements in a landscape design project (plants, forests, terrains, sprinklers,…) in Grasshopper.
