This is the workflow I’ve been using for years with viewports: I keep the orthographic views on the left, and the perspective and isometric views on the right. That way, when I switch between orthographic views, only the left side changes, while the two views on the right stay untouched.
Then, of course, I maximize a viewport whenever I want to focus on a single view, and quickly switch between all views using the tabs/buttons at the bottom.
Unfortunately, this is the only real workaround for people like me who need to switch very quickly from one view to another.
I never understood why Rhino doesn’t have this more intelligent approach where you can quickly switch from right to left, top to bottom, or from isometric to perspective using a single icon/navigation widget like the ones present in several CAD software. It allows a much faster workflow and viewport navigation. Maybe we could see something like this in Rhino 10?
