Vertex Colored meshes loose colors if exploded or split

I was using _MeshBooleanSplit which removes the vertex color. Can confim the method you described works.

It looks like it works if the mesh to cut is open or the mesh to cut with has VCs. If the mesh to cut is closed and the cutter mesh does not have VCs then VCs in the result are lost. It’s very likely the same thing that is going on in the issue Brian reported above with gumball.
