My own toolbar has been empty since the update to version 9 WIP (9.0.26021.12306, 2026-01-21). Reopening the .rui file did not help.
hi @mc11 pls check for a new build, this has been fixed in a newer WIP release. Your toolbars should be safe.
@mc11 if you make new customizations, close open do they persist or do you lose those too?
No. I didn’t change anything. Everything was still there in the previous WIP. I started Rhino and got the message about the new update. “Install and relaunch” and then the toolbar was empty.
How can I revert to the previous version?
Can you try making a new customisation, for example deleting the help icon and then restarting Rhino. Does that icon stay deleted?
Do you mean the help button?
I’m not quite sure I understand what your screenshots show
I created a new button in my own toolbar, which is empty after the last update. It replaces the help button.
The newly created button, in my example a 100mm cam, remains after restarting Rhino.
With it restored does everything now work correctly?
Or is it breaking each time you open/close?
It works. Even with custom scripts and after restarting Rhino and the computer.
It works. So far.

I’m looking into this. I don’t think it’ll happen again, but I’m keeping an eye out and looking for further possible regressions. I’m sorry for all the hassle, but I really appreciate you reporting this and answering all my questions!
Not a problem. I’m glad I could help. ![]()
