Vanishing decals

Hello,
It appears that decals (or their file location is being lost) are being erased after running Purge.
Thanks,
Glenn

Vray 5.10.04 update 1.3

what options are you choosing in the command line of the purge command?

@theoutside
Kyle,
Thank you for the very fast reply.
Purge command line: Everything yes, Bitmaps no (last option on the line).
Glenn

Are the decals assigned, or just loaded? I’m testing here and purge only deletes materials that are not assigned.

@theoutside
Assigned, applied, located, sized, etc.
I don’t use any Rhino materials, only Vray.
I should have mentioned, it seems they disappear after closing Rhino, restarting Rhino (from W10 start menu icon, never double click Rhino file), open file, decals are still visible, then purge, they go away.
Thank you,
Glenn

ah… ok, I’ll have to rely on folks with vray experience, I was just testing with rhino render.

@theoutside
Also, as a work around, I created a clean file with only the items decaled in it. Then I copy/paste into main working file after they disappear.
And they are disappearing from Rhino viewport.
When visible they render, I haven’t tried rendering when I can’t see them. There is a message in the decal box about no texture or not found, then lower it says click to assign or something like that

OK, can you give us a file and steps to reproduce? I can get that in front of the devs and hopefully we can help smooth this a bit-

@theoutside
Strange, I set up a test file, and decals remain in place after multiple purge, close, open, etc.
I can’t share the troubled file due to NDA.
Are the decals stored in any temp file, that would be deleted when turning computer off?
When my workload slows, I’ll try to replicate.
Thanks again for the fast action.
Glenn

ok,

hard to say without seeing a file to replicate. If you can make a non-nda file that shows the issue-

let us know how we can be useful-
