Va Custom Window and Door Styles - seeking help!

Hi. I’m looking to create some custom window and door styles and am searching for some assistance.

This may be a question for F. Salla or one of the VA team?

Here’s a sketch from an Architect of the doors/windows I’m wanting to model:

The bay window on the left is a full window wrap around so the window wraps around the corners. I’m not sure if this will be possible with a window style or not?

It seems my way forward may be to create custom styles from Grasshopper definitions.

Before giving this a go I wanted to find out if there was an example I could use as a template? On Food4Rhino there is a style by F. Salla : Door Style at Food for Rhino

However the vaStylesImport command leads to an ‘unsupported file format’ error. - I assume because the file is a Rhino v7 compatible file format only, not v6?

Is there any chance a version for v6 could be made available or I could be given the original GH file to work with as an example? From that I figure it will be easier to build my own custom style. For reciprocation I’d be happy to share the styles in Food4Rhino.

Any help/guidance appreciated!

Hi @Harri_Gee,

For this kind of windows you can just create regular windows and place them side by side. If you prefer to create custom windows, you can do it in two different ways:

Hi @Harri_Gee, I’ve updated those styles with a new .val file that is compatible with Rhino 6: Hinged door with handles set | Food4Rhino
I’ve developed a bit further the GH definition for the “Simple Hinged door with glass” style, and added some muntins components for the glass. This version is not yet on food4Rhino, but I share here the Grasshopper file, just in case it helps you or others to see how is it done and develop your own styles:
Hinged Glass with Handle.gh (77.4 KB)
Cheers!
