If I am generating a 2d view from a model, and the model contains solid hatches, are there any circumstances under which those hatches will end up in the 2d view? It appears not. Line patterned hatches get recognized though.

Hatch objects with solid pattern are not currently displayed in plan views. This is quite hard to implement because we need to trim off from the hatch the objects that are on top of it, and plan views use the technology of Make2D, which don’t generate solid hatches either.
Once Make2D command generates solid hatches we will be able to implement this on 2D Plan and Section view objects.
As a workaround you can use a different pattern with a small scale, or show the real time plan view in Hidden display mode (that you can print to vector output).
