Hi Jonathan,
FlowAlongCurveAlongSurface has a nice ring to it sweat_smile this would just remove some of the needs to Smash and get the reference curve, orient and align the object to the curve, then flow that back again.
Actually, McNeel has already added a surface normal component to Flow Along Curve. There is a working “Target Surface” command line option in Flow in the WIP. It is a huge timesaver!

_Flow does a space morph between a base reference frame defined by:
Pb - point on the base curve
Nb - CPlane normal
Vb - direction of the curve at Pb
And target reference frame:
Pt - point on the target curve
Nt - CPlane normal
Vt - direction of the target curve at Pt
