V6 compiler version (c++11?)

I’m wondering what the plan is for the compiler version in V6… mostly I’m wondering if I’ll be able to include c++11 features in our plugin.

Has that been decided yet?

Nice to read this question Tom.

Is it for T-Splines upgrade to V6?

We’re not 100% set on the compiler, but the answer to your question is “yes”

Hi Tom,
Yes we are using C++ 11 (and I think 14) features in Rhino 6 code already (things like auto, nullptr, setting class member initial values set where they are declared, shared_ptr…).

  • We are trying to target Visual Studio 2015 for the compiler
  • The .NET runtime we are focusing on is 4.5
  • Windows 7 will be the minimum OS
