Using ESC while typing commands produces major hang

try typing Blend whatever then use ESC, results in a minute long spinball every time.
this started happening (again) in the last few updates, its pretty unbearable please fix it soon.

Must be a Mac problem, not happening in Windows WIP here.

not using any WIP here, just the regular version for mac.
in the WIP for mac it also works normal.

i am using Mac OS Tahoe 26.2
Rhino Version 8 (8.28.26013.10002, 2026-01-13)

its a bit strange.. recently there bugs happening and being reported which nobody can reproduce. i am thinking if you guys have the same versions as we? or do you always use internal builds?

macOS Tahoe 26.2 here as well.
Now tested on (8.28.26005.18002, 2026-01-05) without luck.

For my job, it usually doesn’t make much sense testing outdated versions.

do you have the command line integrated into the left sidebar?

well i switched layouts around a bit then it got less and less and suddenly it stopped messing around.. for a while till i restarted. then it started again.

Yes I’m seeing this also in 8.28.26012.06002 on an M1 running 26.0.1

I suppose that, for the time being, you could use the command options dialog:
