Use of ESC key

ESC in Rhino is supposed to mean cancel, right?
there are some commands, ie, Pipe, where if you ESC after you entered 1st radius dimension, it will execute the command rather than cancel it. Dont you agree that ESC should always mean cancel?

I cannot reproduce this behavior here. Can you tell me exactly what the steps are? Do you press Esc right before the End radius prompt?

Sorry, I did not describe correctly, it happens after you enter End radius value and then ESC.

Same thing if you start CageEdit, choose bounding box option, change the point count on one axis and press ESC, the commands completes instead of canceling.
