Upgrading partial number of licenses

Hi All,

We currently have a number of Rhino5 licenses. Is it possible to upgrade a partial number of these licenses to Rhino7 rather than all of them? So effectivly leaving some Rhino5 licenses in circulation.

Confirmation greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

For what it is worth: once you upgrade a Rhino 5 license to Rhino 7 you still can use Rhino 5. A user can on the same machine use Rhino 7 and Rhino 5 at the same time - that counts as one license. But using a Rhino 5 on one machine, and Rhino 7 one another machine counts as two licenses.

In other words: you should be able to upgrade all licenses, and still have Rhino 5 available for use.

Hi Nathan,

Many thanks for your answer. Very helpful.

Can you confirm I can upgrade just a few of our Rhino5 licenses to Rhino7 rather than all of them? Or is that not possible?

I believe that is possible. Your local reseller should be able to help you, or contact sales@mcneel.com

Yes, that is possible, no problem. Just keep track of which V5 license keys have been used for which V7 upgrade license keys; this is important to know later if you want to upgrade the other V5’s.

Her’s something Brian is cooking up to help customers keep track of their licenses:
