Upgrade license not working

Hi,

I bought a upgrade license for rhino 6 but it tells me, my old license is not valid or has been disabled. It is an educational license, but you FAQ told me that it was possible to upgrade from this as well. I have been working with this license in Rhino 5 and its fine.
Anyone know why this might be?

Thanks for the reply. I am situated in the Netherlands and bought it through a re-seller. Might it have something to do with the face that my university offered free 1 year licenses to us?
