I used to work in the Imperial unit. All of my files, including the files transferred by firms, are in imperial. But today when I opened them, they automatically changed into metric units. It’s too sudden, when i open the file, the unit on the bar still shows “feet”, but as long as the model is loaded, it will change to “meter”. Anyone has any idea about why this will happen? And it seems like I can never switch back to imperil. This stupid bug has polluted almost all of my files, as long as I open them their unit will change, and rhino never asks me if i want to change them or not. Rhino won’t ask me if I need to scale the model to fit either, so all the models are currently on the wrong scale with the wrong unit. Completely ruins all of my works. Also if I open a new file and change the unit to “Feet” and I paste a model from another file, it changes to imperial as well. So stupid.
Lol, i just opened a new file and save it in imperial, and when i open it again, it changes to metric. Epic phenomenon rhino. I want to clap for you.
I haven’t heard of this one before, are you using Rhino Inside Revit? that would at least pop up a warning and options for changing units.
Can you post system info please. This seems plugin related.
No, I don’t use rhino for Revit. But I do install VisualARQ today. I thought it might be its problem, but I have uninstalled it and restarted the computer. And the issue is still there.

Here’s my system infor. Thank you for the help again
Lets disable the plugins that don’t ship with Rhino and see if that resolves it, then add in one by one. Maybe start adding back in with substanceImporter, then V-Ray, X-nurbs,…
Not really working. I have disabled all the plugins I installed in the last 1 year. The problem still exists.
Here’s the new system info.

Rhino has definitely done something to my file when I open it, it’s just too fast that I cant see it. Because even if I just open the file (those were in the imperial unit), and do nothing but to close them once I opened them, it will ask me if I want to save the file or not (which have never happened before if i open a file and didn’t do any changes)
I tried to copy one of my files into rhino 6, and it told me “eInvalidDwgVersion” this never happened before either. This notification is from Asuni CAD. Any idea about this?
The model will still be successfully pasted though.
Asuni is VisualARQ
The above would happen if an a return is entered immediately after opening.
With plugins unloaded are you still getting spontaneous switching of units?
yep, all thing I described still exist
Please repair your Rhino install via Add Remove Programs, Rhino 7, Modify & Repair and reboot the computer (still maintaining no plugins) thanks.
Hi, I have reinstalled the rhino completely, the problem still occure.
