Uneven Color Distribution in Gradient Component

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a recent finding that might already be familiar to some, but it was a surprising revelation for me. It appears that the Gradient component in Grasshopper does not distribute colors linearly or evenly. I’ve attached an image below that illustrates this issue.

Previously, I’ve been utilizing this component for heightmaps analysis, assuming that the color mapping was accurate. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case, which led to some imperfect results.

To address this, I’ve switched to using the Ambrosius toolkit, which allows for the creation of gradients with precisely 255 color steps, ensuring a more uniform distribution of black and white shades. I’ve attached the new gradient file below for those who might find it useful.
